A tender was issued in 2017 for 20 meters. As Eithne Murphy, City Engineer explained, this was to replace the most critical meters that had become obsolete as well as to test how far the parking meter technology had advanced in terms of payment options, meter reliability, resistance to Vandalism and back-office management systems before committing to replacing all of our meters.
